In April 2019, the non-profitĀ 100cameras joined in the work of an IDP camp located in Khanke Village, Kurdistan, in Iraq. The kids we have worked alongside are from Sinjar and have suffered unspeakable tragedy over the past five years, fleeing their homes and losing loved ones on their long journey to safety. The 100camerasĀ model is built on using the art of photography as a powerful tool for self-expression, processing, and feeling ownership in the stories of their individual lives and those of their communities. Learn about the students and families living in the camp below. Video and photos by Andrea Arevalo.
